Contribution to reconstruction and economic development in Iraq.
Hitachi Industrial Products, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hitachi Industrial Products) received an order for 5 items / 7 centrifugal compressor trains for Basrah Refinery Upgrading Project for Iraqi oil refining company under the Iraqi Ministry of Oil (hereinafter referred to as Iraq) being under engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) execution by JGC Corporation in Basrah, Republic of Iraq.
Upgrading of oil refinery constructed in 1970s which have lower production due to war damages and deterioration, has been urgent issue for Iraq who is one of largest oil producing countries in the world.
Project funding will be procured through Japanese ODA loans from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the project is the largest scale reconstruction assistance from Japan Since the 2003 Iraq War.
Centrifugal compressors are one of most key products in entire refinery plant, and our rich supply references for refinery service, technical solution for this particular project as well as project execution capability has been highly accepted by customers.
