Hitachi Industrial Products, Ltd. received orders from Braskem S.A., the largest comprehensive petrochemical company in Latin America (hereinafter referred to as "Braskem"), to increase the capacity by approximately 30% of the Green Ethylene Plant in the Brazilian Triunfo site, which started operations in 2010. The orders were for one set of additional centrifugal compressor and the revamping work of the existing compressor.

Background

Since 2010, Braskem has been producing bio-ethylene, raw material of bioplastic, with an annual production of 200,000 tons from plant-based (sugar cane) ethanol. Global demand for this material has increased dramatically as countermeasure for the waste plastic (hereinafter referred to as "waste plastic") problem and a Carbon neutralization. To further contribute to the formation of a sustainable society, Investment decision has been taken by Braskem to revamp for additional 60,000 tons annual production of Green Ethylene production plant for the promotion of Carbon neutralization and disposal of waste plastic under the brand name "I'M GREEN" (Braskem's registered trademark).

Initiatives

Based on a good partnership established through the maintenance and after services for the existing compressor, we have sincerely responded to the request of Braskem for the expansion plan of its production, and have proposed an optimal modification and a high-performance centrifugal compressor.

Results

By supplying centrifugal compressors, which serve as the core technology of the plant, we will contribute to the achievement of our customers' business goals and support further business expansion.

We will continue to provide products and services that meet the expectations of our customers, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society and the enhancement of the three values of social value, environmental value, and economic value.
