Hitachi Industrial Products, Ltd. ("Hitachi Industrial Products") announced that, on May 20, 2026, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Forsee Power SA ("Forsee Power"), a French company specializing in smart battery systems for sustainable electromobility, to accelerate electrification in the off-highway and rail sectors.
In recent years, demand for decarbonization has been increasing in the off-highway and rail sectors, including mining and construction, leading to growing demand for the electrification and hybridization of vehicles. At the same time, achieving electrification in these applications requires effective integration of electric drive systems and battery technologies.
The two companies will collaborate in key strategic areas, including hybrid and electric systems for mining vehicles, locomotives, and construction machinery, as well as aftersales services in major global markets.
Through this collaboration, Hitachi Industrial Products will leverage its expertise in motors, inverters, and electrical components, while Forsee Power will contribute its advanced battery systems and global aftermarket capabilities.
By combining these strengths, the companies aim to deliver electrification solutions tailored to industrial applications and accelerate the adoption of hybrid and electric systems across the mining, locomotive, and construction sectors, thereby contributing to the decarbonization of heavy-duty and off-highway sectors.
Hitachi Industrial Products will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by advancing electrification and digital technologies, as well as by strengthening its global service capabilities.
